Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable and like yourself. Wear whatever you’ll feel comfortable in and what you feel you’ll perform well in. There is no need to “suit-up.”

  • When should I show up?

Since we’re interviewing virtually, your interviewer will let you into your Zoom room at your scheduled time. You can feel free to join your Zoom interview as early as you’d like, but you will be waiting for the host to start the meeting until your scheduled interview time.

  • I need to reschedule! What do I do?

Things happen! Reach out to your Recruiter ASAP and they will work with you to get your interview rescheduled.

  • How should I prepare?

Use any and all publicly available resources to get a better understanding of Movable Ink and what we do. Review the job posting ahead of the interview. Look up your interviewers on LinkedIn so you know who you’ll be meeting with.

  • I’m interviewing at other companies and received an offer. Now what?

Congrats! Please let your Recruiter know ASAP if you've received another offer. If the Recruiter thinks you'd be a good fit at Movable Ink, they may chat with you about your other opportunity and help you evaluate your potential at Movable Ink. If Movable Ink can't meet your career goals, we'll let you know. If we can, we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

  • What is a focus interview and why do you conduct them?

Focus interviews are functional/technical interviews that are focused on one specific part of the role. We use the A-Method Interviewing Methodology, which means each interview focuses on a particular outcome or part of the position. This helps us learn more about you and teaches you more about the job. It’s a win-win!

  • Who should I provide as references?

We like to speak to at least one former manager, though we understand that may not always be possible. Depending on the role, we may also ask to speak to a client, partner, or colleague outside of your current organization. We also love chatting with functional stakeholders, former direct reports, one-over-ones, etc. If you have questions, reach out to your Recruiter.

  • Why do you check references?

References are a great way for us to confirm all of the great things we learned about you in the interviewing process. They are not meant as a trap! We use these calls to ensure that we're setting you up for success in your potential new role here at Movable Ink.

For most positions, we need to speak with at least two references before proceeding with an offer of employment.

  • What’s the biggest mistake I can make?

Not having questions. Interviews are as much an interview for you as it is for us; we need to evaluate if you fit the needs of the role and you need to decide if this is a job you want to do. Have questions about the company, culture, management style, success, etc. Reach out to your Recruiter if you’re unsure - we’re happy to help!

  • How else can I do well in the interview?

    Do your research.

    Have questions for us.

    Bring your authentic self.

Tell us how we can make you successful.
